Mont Blanc Fountain Pens Hand crafted and hand tested by Mont Blanc’s Master craftsmen, you can hear perfection when writing with a Mont Blanc pen. Fountain pen collecting is a hobby enjoyed by people all over the world.Mont Blanc pens started their history earlier than you might think. Mont blanc’s products are thoroughly representative of German pens: conservative in style, heavily built, and expensive. Mont Blanc writing instruments are identified by the white, six-pointed start on top of their pens. Mont Blanc also offered stylographic style pens for technical writing during much of its history.

Sheaffer fountain pens began the world-renowned history with just seven employees in 1912, crowded into the small back room of a jewelry store in Fort Madison, Iowa, USA. Sheaffer fountain pens with the inlaid nib, write smoothly and with a consistant flow of ink, sadly they are no longer made in the USA. Sheaffer fountain pens designed exclusively for calligraphy.Fountain Pen has Sheaffer Lifetime Triumph 14KT gold two tone nib, firm extra fine point – note that the original Sheaffer paper bandis still wrapped around the section. Fountain pens come in all shapes and sizes…Oh, and prices.Sheaffer Balance fountain pen set that was made in the USA in the late 1930s. Sheaffer filed a patent on a new way to fill a fountain pen. Sheaffer Lifetime 14KT gold nib in fine point.

Javelin Fountain Pen
|
Review Date: June 21, 2010
Reviewer: Gayl01, Southern Illinois
I bought a Sheaffer Javelin Fountain pen and what I found with my pen is that it is generous with the ink. I do not like my handwriting so I would prefer a fine nib instead of the med nib due to generous black ink and sloppy handwriting. Writing with this pen is a pleasure even more so with a Sheaffer Javelin ball point pen. The pens I got write as smooth as whipped butter. It is an extreme pleasure. I did buy two Lamy Safari fountain pens and found that they are scratchy and they are stingy with the ink. I tried flushing very well but to no avail. As always, Sheaffer has not let me down.
Not crazy about this pen

This pen has a fine nib, which is fine if you write slowly. If you quicken the pace, the ink does not seem to get to the nib fast enough. Also, the sharp nib cuts into the writing paper if you press even a little too hard, especically good bond paper. If I could replace the nib with a medium, I am sure I would be much happier.
Disappointed in quality

I like the feel of fountain pens but lose pens too often to buy a really nice one. Tried this pen as a compromise and was disappointed in the quality. When I write, generally, I don't press too hard on the paper and I write relatively fast long hand; I use almost exclusively Moleskine notebooks so it's not the low quality of paper but this pen does not write smoothly. After about a week of use, the nib seemed to have worn somehow and it started to catch the paper and was scratching it - paper lint then gets caught on the nib and it's basically ruined. I don't recommend this product, unfortunately.
